About Us

The Hamilton Vegetarian Society was initially established under the guidance of vegan, environmentalist, and ecological entrepreneur, Beau Caza. Recognizing the lack of a vegetarian community in Hamilton, Beau began collaborating with local environmental groups and businesses to build an ecologically ethical social network in the city. Understanding that educated, organized, everyday citizens can make a difference, the HVS is founded on the principals of collective guidance. The Hamilton Vegetarian Society is in affect comprised of the very members and volunteers who actively participate to make our city greener, cleaner, healthier and happier.

Our mission focuses on raising local awareness of the ecological effects our everyday choices have on our surrounding environment, our health and our future. Our programs are directed towards improving personal and social self-sustainability. The HVS’ community outreach initiatives include working with youth, the unfortunate and active members of society in an effort to improve all aspects of life for humanity.

Founded as a knowledgeable body, the HVS upholds its responsibility as a public community establishment to embody essential values and principles of integrity, equality and transparency. The Hamilton Vegetarian Society encourages the participation of any volunteer, member or active individual regardless of their dietary choices. Unlike governmental organizations, regulated and incorporated bodies, the Hamilton Vegetarian Society is represented by the public, for the public.

Our motto at the Hamilton Vegetarian Society is simple:

Grow, Don’t Wither.™
