The Hamilton Vegetarian Society has partnered with the Ontario Public Interest Research Group of McMaster University to increase public awareness about the environmental impacts of diet. OPIRG is a non-profit initiative that enables students and volunteers to engage in active change towards the advancement of social justice and environmental reform.
The OPIRG working group of the Hamilton Vegetarian Society consists of student and community volunteers that dedicate their time and resources to advocate the importance of adopting a plant based diet for both personal health and environmental sustainability.
In order to achieve our goals of creating awareness, the HVS working group will be holding information tables, presentations and bake sales throughout the 2009-2010 school year.
For event updates, please sign-up for the HVS newsletter.
If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.
Our information booths offer an opportunity to meet with volunteers and organizers of the OPIRG working group for the Hamilton Vegetarian Society.
